We are so proud to offer you a unique, dynamic and transformative program that is specifically focused on helping students develop insight through practice on and off the yoga mat and in their roles guiding others. The teacher training program was established with a special intention to offer advanced studies and credentials to students who might not otherwise see themselves as yoga teachers. Our students are mature and capable of self-directed work and active engagement. They come prepared to share their talents with others. We have had nurses, therapists, teachers, and retirees as some of our most successful students and invite those of you who want to live fully and age gracefully while supporting others to join us!
This teacher training and professional development program is designed to support the need for our students to have both structure and freedom. Students will meet as a cohort in two weeklong yoga intensives in August 2019 and January 2020 in Anchorage, Alaska, and will choose from a variety of options to fulfill additional requirements. Apprenticeships, independent studies, teaching practicums and additional coursework with faculty will continue into 2020. Students may request certification whenever their hours have been completed.
Becoming A Registered Yoga Teacher
Successful teacher trainees must be enrolled for certification and agree to program guidelines. Coursework, including two weeklong intensives, and up to 60 additional contact hours and a teaching practicum must be completed according to the terms of the Enrollment Contract. Program elements include both required and elective options. For successful completion of the certification course, 200 hours are required. Upon completion students will be able to register in Yoga Alliance’s international registry as a Registered Yoga Teacher.
